If we are lucky, we have the good fortune to know many wonderful people in our lives. There are friends who are pleasant to be around and pass the time with, but who never become close enough to impact our lives in a substantial way. There are close friends who share our triumphs and sorrows. And then there are people who have shown by their actions a level of care and love that is truly humbling. My wife is an amazing woman, with a capacity to give that is rarely found. She draws people to her with her quick smile, fun loving personality, and compassionate heart. And I have the privilege of standing beside her and observing what it means to back up your words with action and integrity. She is unique and she is my inspiration….

Summer’s Here….

I can already feel it. Those long, hot, humid days are right around the corner. And I must confess that summer is not my favorite time of year. Give me a cold, brisk, winter evening curled up in front of the fire at the lake with a steaming mug of hot buttered rum any day. But I can’t deny the fact that there are some joys to be appreciated with the onset of the sweat… Days on the waverunner on Clear Lake, stopping at OUTRIGGERS on the water for fish tacos and a cold beverage. Listening to the live music so prevalent in our area this time of year. And speaking of live music, I would like to encourage everyone to get out and support those venues who use it. The waiters and waitresses who work so hard to take care of you and the bands depend on you to get the bills paid and to make ends meet. Let them know you appreciate their efforts with a generous tip. And, by all means, check the website often for where I’ll be. The band is busy and so am I. Hope to see you out soon! Until then remember… the A/C is a wonderful friend. There must be a special place in heaven for the guy who invented it……

Special Weekend

Easter weekend is always a special time for me, as I reflect on the gift that was freely given to me over 2000 years ago. As a Christian, I am so thankful my personal failures, both large and small, are forgiven. It’s cause for celebration. And celebration for me somehow always has music involved. That being said… the band will be at OUTRIGGER”S under the Kemah bridge this Friday night. I will be at MAINLY DRINKS in La Porte on Saturday night. And I will also be singing at SOUTH SHORE HARBOR RESORT for brunch Sunday from 10am to 2pm. Come by and say hello…and have a wonderful Easter weekend with your family!

This past Saturday, Kevin Cowart, joined the band. We are so excited to have him! He brings a wealth of talent and expertise with him. Playing saxophone and keyboards, as well as helping with marketing and website issues, Kevin will add a new dimension to CROSSROADS. He and his wife, Kayla, are super people and a joy to be around. And Kayla sings as well. So in the not too distant future, you may see her gracing our stage. Welcome, Kevin and Kayla, we are blessed to have you…

Mainly a Great Time!

What an awesome time we had at Mainly Drinks in La Porte last night. Friends came from as far as Conroe to listen and sing along with everything I could think of to play. If you haven’t checked out this place, it needs to be on your “to do” list. The food is great and everyone is so friendly. Debra, the owner, will make you feel like a long lost friend immediately. I met some really nice people who love live music, and that always makes it special. Can’t wait to go back in April. Check ‘em out for lunch, dinner or just a great cup of coffee to get your day going. Keep checking the website. The band plays T Bone’s this coming weekend. See ya there>>>> jeff

St. Patrick’s Day

Put your green on and head to T BONE TOM’S in Kemah on the 17th of this month. CROSSROADS will be rocking the place and we look forward to partying with the Irish and non Irish alike! There will be lots of places to celebrate, but T Bone’s is always a great place to be. Great food, drinks, lots of room, and family friendly. Fresh Ears

It’s amazing how you hear things musically with new enthusiasm after walking away for a time. My CD “Wind from My Sails”, which is available online at CDBABY and on ITUNES, is an example. I had not listened to the CD for 2 or 3 months and popped it in the player while driving to work yesterday. Every note seemed to be new and brought to mind things that happened during the recording process. It was a rewarding experience and I really am very proud of it. I hope you will download a copy or come to one of the shows and pick up a disc. I heard from a lady who bought the CD at a show recently. She said she listens to it every day. That is very satisfying to an artist, and reminds me of why I love creating music. Check the website for dates. Hope to see you out soon… Jeff

AWESOME TRIP!

Didn’t want to come home, but all good things come to an end…at least temporarily. Fredericksburg was the same fun town it always has been. I went to the Garrison Bros. bourbon distillery in Hye Texas and took the tour. Very interesting, samples and all. And I played at Lincoln Street Wine Bar for some very appreciative late night patrons. Took in the activities in Luchenbach on Saturday. Heard some fine music and enjoyed a wonderful meal at CROSSROADS BAR and GRILL on West Main. Shirley and I sat in front of the fireplace ay our B&B and thoroughly kicked back. Can’t wait to go back…but for now I’ll be at Signature tonight 6 to 10. Come out and say hello!! See ya soon!

HUG IN LUKENBACH!

Well, I don’t know how much huggin’ we are going to do in the rain here in Fredericksburg, but trust me there’s plenty to do in one of my favorite towns. Never been to Luckenbach down the road even though I’ve been to the hill country many times. I am looking forward to some great music in between the showers! Friends are traveling with us and we’re going to have a super time. I’ll be back at Signature Bistro on Saturday, the 18th, so come hang out with me. The food is always great and the crowd friendly. On the Road Again…

We are so excited to be heading to two of our favorite cities in the next few weeks for some R&R. Fredericksburg, Texas, with it’s wonderful hill country flavor and live music scene, always rekindles my zeal for performing. Shirley and I love the wineries and the B&B’s in the area also. It’s always a new adventure. And then San Diego, California, is an incredibly beautiful city on the bay. We can’t wait to explore the coast and enjoy the sunshine.
